What Do You Receive With Your Transfer
- All our DVD’s include chapter points to make it easy to navigate and jump forward and backwards on your DVD in 5 minute increments.
- We transfer using a variety of high quality VCR’s from Panasonic, Sony and JVC and choose the player that best suits your tapes. We even adjust the audio head to match your tape for the crispest possible sound.
- All transfers pass through a Digital Time-Base corrector to ensure the highest stability of your picture.
We capture to a computer and NEVER use DVD recorders which produce quick but poor results
- We put a maximum of 2 hours of vision onto our DVD’s as the video quality is paramount. Allowing 3 or 4 hours on a DVD produces a badly degraded picture. Don’t be fooled if others say you can fit more, only by using burnable Dual layer discs, can you fit up to 4 hours of quality vision on a DVD. These discs are rarely used however due to known incompatibilities with some DVD players. So to put it simply it just can’t be done!
- We use the finest encoding software to create your DVD. This takes many hours of computer time to create the highest quality picture and sound possible and then we burn your DVD’s using Verbatim single layer DVD-R disks at a slow burn speed to ensure long term reliability.
- We direct print label your DVD with black text of your choice and supply it in clear plastic Mailer Case or DVD Case.

Why does the tape length not always equal the playing time of a video tape: A lot of tape formats allow you to record at normal speed (SP) and also Long Play (LP) which can double the playing length. The only way to determine what speed a tape is recorded at is to play the tape back.

Transferring Only Part of a Video Tape: We will transfer only a section of tape at no extra charge however the tape must be wound to the point where you want it to play from and a written description be attached to the tape. e.g start on shot of child running into room. Ensure you alert us to only wanting a part of the tape by wrapping the tape in the piece of paper with the above information and clearly stating on the paper to start the transfer from the current position and not from the start of tape. If there is no note we automatically rewind the tape and that will loose your start position. So don’t forget! If you want the tape to finish at a point earlier than the end. You need to zero the timer at the start point and write down the duration you want transferred and supply a written description e.g Finish on car driving away duration 45 minutes 15 seconds. If we have to ring you for clarification eg duration is wrong or descriptions are too vague etc, extra charges may apply so please be accurate.

Damaged Video Tapes: Tapes that have been chewed by a VCR and have either mangled or broken tape hanging out can normally be repaired for $20. Tapes that have either the top or bottom edge curled or serrated cannot be repaired but may play back better in our Transfer machines than yours. Tapes that are shedding oxide causing head clogs will benefit from our video tape cleaning service costing $20-$30 depending on length of tape and degree of shedding.

DVD Labels: We label your DVD with what information we can find on the videotape. If you want something different please write it down and attach it to the video tape. Tapes with nothing written on them will be marked in numeric order and the DVD labeled Tape1 Tape2 etc

|
Turn Around Time: The average time is 5 working days however this may vary. We will try to speed up your video transfer if you request it and we do offer a priority service with a 24 hour turnaround guarantee. The price for this varies depending on the number of tapes and our workload.

|
Hard Disk Video Cameras: The Video file formats vary greatly and pricing also depends on the amount of footage; please call for a quote. Extra charges will apply if you want only some clips. We recommend you erase what you don’t want before hand. We will need the camera, charger, Video & USB connecting cables and instruction booklet to do your transfer.
